Why this site exists
Search "best free tools for YouTubers" and you'll get ten listicles stuffed with affiliate links, the same five tools in random order, and no mention of what the free plan actually includes until paragraph nine — if at all. Creators deserve better than bait-and-switch recommendations.
ToolHex Creators lists tools organized by the job they do (edit, design, rank, clean audio, clip, stream), and every listing states plainly: what's free, what's limited, what costs money, and who the tool is genuinely for. If a free tier is a crippled demo pretending to be free, we say so — or we don't list the tool.
Our editorial rules
- The free tier must be real. A tool gets listed only if its free version can complete a real creator workflow — not just tease one.
- Limits are stated on-page. Watermarks, export caps, credit systems and account requirements are written into every listing, not hidden.
- Money never moves the verdict. Affiliate relationships (disclosed on every page that has one) never change rankings or scores. Tools can't pay to be listed or to be described favorably.
- Listings are maintained. Free plans change; when they do, pages are updated or removed. Readers can flag outdated info on the submit page.
How we make money
Two ways, both disclosed: display advertising, and affiliate commissions when you upgrade to a paid plan through some of our links (marked with rel="sponsored"). Neither affects what we write — the full policy is on the disclosure page. Browsing, searching and reading everything here is and will remain free.
Who makes this
ToolHex Creators is part of ToolHex, a small independent project building free, privacy-friendly browser tools (image compression, PDF utilities, calculators and more — all running locally on your device). The directory extends the same philosophy to the wider creator ecosystem: find the genuinely free tools, be honest about the rest.
