How we pick tools

Every listing on ToolHex Creators answers four questions before it is published: Does the free tier actually work for a real creator? Is the tool safe and reputable? Does it respect you — no dark patterns, no surprise watermarks, no forced account where one isn't needed? Would we recommend it to a friend starting a channel this week? If any answer is no, it doesn't get listed.

We also keep listings current: free plans change, features move behind paywalls, and tools shut down. When that happens we update or remove the page — and readers can flag outdated info in one click.

Why a directory?

Because "best free tools for YouTubers" lists are usually affiliate link dumps: the same five tools in a random order, paywalls hidden, and nothing about what free actually gets you. This directory is the opposite — organized by the job you're trying to do (edit, design, rank, clean audio, clip, stream), with each tool's free-plan limits stated plainly on its page.
